The Magazines Band origins as many other
nature talents in Africa literally from the street
or from the bush, where also nowadays the old traditions are cultivated and the young
ones try to unit the conventional way of life with the innovations of today nicely. The
pulsing, steady rhythm is significant for this street-entertainment which in the manner of
the former ballad-singers carries further stories and tales. More or less as a fortuitous
acquaintance the group was discovered for live performances and finally taken to the
Tropical Recording Studio to Malindi, where this CD was produced.
